Niraj Desai began his career working on animated specials for an advertising/marketing firm on the south side of Chicago. Game development beckoned after a few years, so he accepted a position at SOE in St Louis, Misery (no…that’s not a typo), to work on an MMOFPS called PlanetSide. The studio closed up shop after the product shipped, and the team moved to San Diego where Niraj joined the EverQuest II team for the launch of the Desert of Flames, Kingdom of Sky, and Echoes of Faydwer expansions. He also worked on Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom on PS3.

Niraj joined the 38 Studios team for a plethora of reasons, but the biggest was the ability/chance to do it right. Having worked on a number of projects where he and his team wished they could’ve changed this or done that differently, he thinks it’s so cool to be surrounded by like-minded people who have the same passion and drive.
